De Origine et Légalité des Bois (= OLB) is a French term, which in Dutch, stands for the origin and legality of wood. The OLB certification and monitoring system was established in 2004 by the French certifying agency, Bureau Veritas Certification.
The OLB certificate could be recognized on the OLB logo. The logo shows that the production of wood took place under the legal circumstances and guarantees traceability of the wood from the trunk in the forest to its eventual processing and the final delivery to the client.
The OLB system includes 2.1 million hectares of forest spread over 20 forest management certificates in 3 countries (Cameroon, Central African Republic and Gabon).
